ABOUT THE MILLION ‘DOLLA’ WOMAN CAMPAIGN:

The purpose of the campaign is to inspire women to take action to start or grow their businesses by creating an environment where they can benefit from the experiences of successful entrepreneurs, access resources and recruit individuals to help them to start/grow their businesses.

Target Audience:

  • Female entrepreneurs seeking financial assistance.
  • Women interested in entrepreneurial advancements locally.
  • Businesses seeking to promote female entrepreneurship.

The campaign will give 25 women throughout Jamaica an opportunity to receive a loan financed by Dolla Financial of up to two hundred thousand dollars (J$200,000) in full or in tranches depending on affordability. This loan product will carry a specially reduced interest rate and flexible payment terms. The vision for this campaign is that each successful applicant will be able to turn the J$200,000 loan into J$1,000,000 in profit over a 6 –9-month period. The intention is to incentivize three (3) participants who accomplish this goal within the 9-month period with a grant of J$1,000,000 each.

The Million Dolla Woman Campaign (‘the campaign) is open to

  1. Jamaican Female entrepreneurs who are both residents in Jamaica and 18 years of age or older as of Mach 7, 2023; who
  2. Qualifies for a loan up to 200,000 during the period March 8-April 8, 2023

The Campaign is NOT open to any employee (whether or not permanently employed) of Dolla Financial Services Limited and its Parent Company, First Rock Private Equity,( and other related entities) and subsidiaries; Dolla Guyana and Ultra Financier, as well as persons living in the same household and members of their immediate families (including parents, siblings, spouse and children).

Total funding of $3,000,000 to be equally split amongst three (3) winners.

The “Million ‘Dolla’ Woman Campaign” will include a pitch competition that provides a platform for a group of women entrepreneurs to compete for a chance to qualify for the J$1,000,000 grant by submitting a pitch outlining the details of their business and growth strategy through a confidential medium. The Dolla judging panel will then adjudicate the submissions to identify 25 women, who meet the criteria, to receive a loan from which the competition begins.

  • Female owners of micro and small businesses.
  • The business must have been in operation for at least one (1) year.

Three (3) independent winners will be chosen based on the following criteria and points system:

  1. Revenues of $1,000,000 or more on the funds disbursed during the period (25 points)
  2. 100% increase in profit during the period (25 points)
  3. Attended and completed all 3 workshops. (15 points)
  4. Provided progress videos and attended all monthly check in meetings (15 points)
  5. Business improvements (fixtures, social media following, increased customer base) (20 points)

Once the required criteria have been satisfied, the top 3 participants will be selected on the 22nd of December 2023. On the selection date, a Dolla representative will have a list of all the participants along with the criteria stipulated at the start of the campaign. Points will be allocated to each criterion and the top 3 participants will be selected based on the number of points accumulated. If there is an instance where there is a tie, the company with the lower efficiency ratio will be selected

  1. Winners will be required to redeem the prizes within thirty (30) days of the draw date on a date agreed with DOLLA FINANCIAL and to produce a valid government-issued photo ID (Passport, National ID or Driver’s License) in order to collect the prize.
  2. Prizes can only be redeemed in person, as advertised and can only be transferred or exchanged for cash or any other form of compensation at the absolute discretion of DOLLA FINANCIAL . We reserves the right to impose parameters or limitations on such request at will without any consideration as to equivalence and/or to refuse such request at will.
    • Once the criteria are met for claiming a prize and a prize awarded, any person(s) wishing to dispute the awarding of the prize should send a communication in writing.
  1. By participating in the campaign/ promotion, all potential winners agree to be bound by the terms and conditions and any other requirements set out in the promotional material; and the decision(s) of DOLLA FINANCIAL regarding all aspects of the campaign will be final following approval from the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission.

  2. By accepting Prizes, winners agree to take part in any publicity or promotional event(s) arranged by DOLLA FINANCIAL surrounding the results of the campaign/ promotion and that DOLLA FINANCIAL may use their name, picture and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes, without further compensation. They further authorize DOLLA FINANCIAL to deliver, and assign the right of use, to all third parties if any from which prizes originate or through which prizes are administered (i) any information (including personal information) required to process and/or administer prizes and (ii) their image and likeness for promotional and related purposes. If winners refuse, they will forfeit their prize.

  3. DOLLA FINANCIAL, with consultation and prior approval from the BGLC, reserves the right to delay, terminate or amend this campaign/promotion at any time with or without prior notice. In any of these events, notice will be given to the participants via publications such as, but not limited to, in print or social media.

  4. To the fullest extent permitted by law, each participant in the Campaign/ Promotion is deemed to have waived any right that he/she has or may have against DOLLA FINANCIAL and its officers, servants, employees, representatives and/or agents (including without limitation, any company from which prizes originate and third-party service providers DOLLA FINANCIAL may engage for the purposes of the Promotion) in respect of any loss or damages howsoever arising whether in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise, in connection with the Campaign/ Promotion even if DOLLA FINANCIAL has been advised of the possibility of such damages in advance.

  5. DOLLA FINANCIAL reserves the right at all times to disqualify any participant, where DOLLA FINANCIAL believes there has been any bribing of administration, tampering of security, fairness or proper operation of this Promotion has been impaired.  

  6. The Promotion and rules shall be exclusively governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Jamaica.
